Field Of Roses

Rose after rose
My mind wanders
It's so repetitive

I call it out
Another red rose
Another green stem

Another missed smile
Another wish
Another tear

I lay down in this field
I see the same sky
Blue with clouds

I call them out
The same shapes
From when I was a child

The same hopes
The same pain
The same emptiness

And my tears fall again
Hugging the edges of each red rose
Like dew from the morning

And I call out
Crying at each fear
Screaming at each memory

Repetitive
Everything is so repetitive
In this field of roses
