I’ve been doing Music Technology, and Performing Arts for about 2 years now, and apparently, these are some of the things you might find inside a mic:
I believe there is much more to performing than the technology supporting it.
Let me tell you what’s really inside a microphone……
The dreams and hopes of 604 teens,- Jokes, Laughter! Side-splitting!
62 thousand lyrics from hearts beating to the rythmn of the bass line… beating to the rythmn of the bass line… beating to the rythmn of the bass line…
Tears wept from the eyes of the children within us all. Tears of sorrow. Tears of “What if”, of amazement, of laughter. Tears opening the eyes of those who were too blind to see the youth as astute.
The echos of applause for performers still learning their trade.
Roars of cheers, PAUSES...
72... erm... forgotten lines and mistakes made
423 "Test….Test... 1,2...1,2’s" and "Is this thing on?"
"This is a song I wrote"
28 off key notes, but 56 switches of pitches and everything going without a glitch so there’s no need for nervous twitches.
Their magic bewitches beholders, as they’re shifting boulders and moving mountains...
The exploration of text, expansion of lexis, verbal dexterity, effort, time, reactions, distractions, sincerity, interaction, recording sessions, first impressions, taking action- and-it- all-breaks-down-to-one-thing...
Self expression
------- Author's Notes -------
I do quite a lot of performance poetry and this is one of my favorites to do on stage because usually the people watching me are performers too and can relate. |
