Word Play
6 December, 2004
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
It was sad to see you go
Hidden by anger and defense
Beneath the surface laid a kind heart
Whose emotions were intense
You spoke of pains and sorrows
Your past you could not shake
Always pushing the present away
An embattlement you would make
Not everyone can see eye to eye
Points of views are different
And each worthy of a thought
Some mis-interpretations most persistent
One who plays with words is different
Perfection is not who we are
Each person reads what they think is there
Each word a shooting star
I will not beg anyone to stay
When they say they will be gone
Choices are always there to make
Into path changes, I won't be drawn
Though you may be away for now
Your perspective and stories missed
You will always have a home here
In a place where the dreamers exist
