Angel Feathers
12 December, 2004
Author: J Freedom Long
He believes in Angels,
Angels far and near.
Watching for Angel cues,
Miracles appear.
Human angels there,
Before spirit time.
Loving him regardless,
Of Sin or Crime.
Nature angels there,
In flower, bird, a tree.
Reminding him now,
Of Higher energy.
Spirit angels there,
Somewhere above.
Sending hugs on winds,
From Higher love.
Guardian angel there,
For him alone.
Opening ways to see,
Things not yet known.
God gathers all angels
To Assemble each day.
Dropping angel feathers
To mark his path and way!
------- Author's Notes -------
My poem Angel Feathers was inspired years ago on the day my Mom Hazel died. She was a wonderful Mother who raised a daughter and three sons alone, and I was the youngest. Grieving for her at sunset in that Northern Indiana cornfield, a flock of Canadian geese flew overhead and a feather floated down into my lap. I did feel it was a connection with Hazel again...now a spirit angel. |

Meridian (172.171.180.203) -- Wednesday, December 15 2004, 03:13 pm Hey J Freedom Long! The feather that flew overhead, descending next to you, could've been very well significant of your Mother's spirit! You know, I've often heard of some elderly people, whose parents have long gone, say that they've seen their parents in spirit. If I ever saw a ghostly figure, you better believe I'm gonna scream, even though they are only there to comfort us. Very poignant J Freedom Long! Moving poem! Smiley face, Meri |
