I've Done My Time
15 December, 2004
Author: Clive B Ringshall
Been a while and that’s to long,
Been a while and I’ve missed you so,
Today I called and you asked me round,
Arrived at 6 we went for a walk,
Holding your hand it’s still the same,
My heart it flutters in a peculiar way,
As we walk the dogs run free,
They play like friends,
Even though they’ve never met,
How have you been it’s been so long?
What are you doing? Since I’ve been gone
Do the children still remember me?
Remember the time we used to date?
Remember our plans each and every one?
I was sent away to work in green,
I’d write you letters everyday,
Then one day I wrote no more,
I seemed to sleep for evermore,
Now I’m back and you’re still in me,
Now I’m back I’d like to see you with me,
Can you forgive or take me back,
I’ll not ever leave again,
Done my time, I’ll fight no more,
All I want is to be with you and yours,
