So many lives were taken,
Family and friends.
My heart is breaking,
And it just never ends.

All of those people
Are heroes to me,
And when I close my eyes now,
This is what I see...

God sent down the Angels,
And they wrapped them in their wings.
And led them to Salvation,
Where God's true freedom rings.

And now they're up in Heaven,
With wings all of their own.
They're watching and protecting us,
From things we can't condone.

But they won't be forgotten.
No, we won't forget,
The way their lives were taken,
When they weren't over yet.

And now we're on a mission,
Down here on this earth,
To show our greatest heroes,
Just what their lives are worth.

'Cause we are proud to be Americans,
Together, Strong, and Free.
We are proud to be Americans,
And we will fight for our country.

And they won't be forgotten.
No, we won't forget,
The way their lives were taken,
When they weren't over yet.

And now we're on a mission,
And we're gonna make them proud.
With love for our country,
And we'll shout it out loud...

WE ARE PROUD TO BE AMERICANS,
TOGETHER, STRONG, AND FREE.
