Please Dont Go Again
16 December, 2004
Author: Ben Franklin
I cant wait,
my daddy comes home tommorow from
Iraq,
the first thing im gonna do is grab my football so we
can have a kick-about up the
park.
he sent me letters whilst away,
telling me he was on holiday helping his
friends,
but I'm old enough to read the papers
so daddy please dont pretend.
Everyday hoping that casualty was not you
everyday hoping you will come home soon.
Daddy I know alot have people have been dying in vain,
but please promise me you won't be going there
again.

Tricia (65.161.76.44) -- Sunday, December 19 2004, 10:32 pm I like this poem. My husband was over in Iraq for 13mths and possibly goin back before our child is born. When i saw his face for the first time when he arrived home, it was the best feeling in the world. God bless those who wait at home for their soldiers to come home, and those who serve our country so unselfishly. |
