I can't see the fight
I dont want the prize
All these things I've done for pride
Everyday I have to hide

I can't seem to stay far enough away
I think Im fine but come to find
That you've pulled me back down
Down to where I can't see the light

Everyday I think how it would be
If you still wanted to know me
What is it about friends we can't have
All those feelings you said you had
All the meaningless words you said
I look around and see the hate you've spread

Everyday I see the ways
things used to be
And slowly alone I scream
It tears me up inside
Those times when you confide
Your words now are so hollow
I have no choice but to follow
My own way
No matter what the people say

Its hopeless to erase
the memories that I hate
There is no end in sight
There is no compromise
I sit and wait for my fate to break
All I can see is your face
There is no escape

If I could wash it all away
All those times I hear you say
I love you, I need you,
I could never leave you

If just for a moment you could feel
All the pain I've felt
And the love I've delt
Maybe then you would see
What it is that been done to me

I see the act you put on for them
Desperately trying just to fit in
In the end you will see
Just how meaningless words can be

I see the places that weve been
There not the same in any way
The memories there have started to fade

I take a walk to clear my head
My heart,my eyes, my soul you've read
All my feelings for you I save
And leave to regret another day

Everytime I think you've changed
I try again and call your name
And everytime your still the same
All I beg is to be heard
But in the end I'm just ignored

Everyday I have to wake
And repeat the day
with the same cruel fate

This is good! Holy crap! You've brought back some old wounds. I know this feeling from long ago. Hope things turn out well for you. Time will heal. Thanks for a great poem Brian, that you shared with all of us.
