Another Race
1 March, 2003
Author: Carol Z
In a world so shallow,
One dares to be different.
To create a reason for diversity,
Take a chance with another race.
They sit and stare and say such things.
Enough to bother a helpless girl.
He doesn't seem to notice,
Yet it's all she can hear.
When they hug or kiss,
Heads turn immediately.
Nothing is going to change,
So why does it matter this much.
One day, someone may understand,
Take their hand away from her face.
It's not that big of a deal...
It's her decision anyways.

Teakwood (67.250.178.188) -- Monday, March 3 2003, 11:42 pm You tell it like it is! I like your poems. From the heart. This is a touchy subject. Black, white brown, yellow, or red. What differents does it make. Look around, talk to anyone. Most of us have more then one race. We are mix vegetable of soup, a jumbolia of things. Sounds like your very happy with your man. The world around you looks, but it is your world with him that counts. Nice poem Carol, I know where your coming from. I'm there too and ignore the looks. I have a beautiful blond to be pround of. Thanks for your poem. You go girl! |
Carol Z. (68.50.154.186) -- Saturday, March 15 2003, 05:57 am Thanx so much for your encouragement. It's nice to see that someone finally commented on one of my poems. So I'm not just sharing them for nothing. It kinda sounds like my boyfriend(the one I wrote this for) made this comment. I could be wrong, but it's mysterious...lol. Well, whoever it is, thanx soooo much.... |
