A Dollar Spent by Clive B Ringshall

Santa came to visit our tree,
Santa came for presents to leave,
Santa left a note to read,
As I read I began to weep,
This was the note, it read,

These gifts I leave in hope you’ll enjoy,
All I ask is you'll read my heed,

In every country I go and it’s this I see,
Children that belong to you and also me,
In hunger and despair,
Faces with hope destroyed,
Hands to week to hold out for food,
Clothes that are full of holes,
What are we to do this time of year?
Hopes are high; cheer is seen in your smile,

Do today what I’ve done for you,
Pick up the phone and donate a dollar will do,
A children’s charity will thank you for all you can do,
Together we can feed a world,
Together we can clothe and fill in the holes,
Please don’t forget a dollar can make a difference,
To all those, who will never read these words,
I send you it in the form of a dollar spent,

Many people are less fortunate that ourselves,
With our computers and family that give,
Lets all take a moment and remember the thought of giving.
To all you who read My friends all dear....

You speak of so much truth in this world...it's sad..that people have to hunger...to have cloths filled with holds...when all it take is a dollar...to make a difference...and so many people just don't care....love your work...Joyce

Clive, Thanks for another deep caring poem to help all know how many blessings we have in life and how the innocents...the children need more than prayers to feed, clothe and love them...a wonderful Christmas message too..we are our brother's (and sister and the children) keeper. A very powerful poem...thanks for reminding me and keep up those wonderful word pictures..that I enjoy so much.........happy holidays...Jerry
