A Lover's Heart
20 December, 2004
Author: Eryemil
A lover’s heart when love’s not given
Trembles in sorrow to it’s very core;
And when that heart has been once broken,
He’d feel it wilt for it will love no more.
A lover’s heart is like a severed rose,
That without sustain grows wane, and dies;
And like the rose plucked from it‘s bush‘s embrace,
The heart, without it’s love will have no life.
A lover tries to heal his broken heart,
By searching for new loves and mindless quest;
Yet every time he’d kiss another mouth,
The pieces of his heart will pierce his chest.
And if a lover saw his love kissing another,
He’d die a second time; and once again,
As his love looks in his eyes and says “No more”
The shards of his poor heart would wrench with pain.
But like fragile glass each broken piece,
At the mercy of an artist’s thongs and torch;
At the hands of an ardent new love’s kiss,
The heart would melt again and be made whole.

This is really a well thought out poem. I like it very much. It's great! Thanks for sharing your poem with us Eryemil. |
