Author: Webster
Their bullets don't hurt me,
Their predictions will fail.
My strength won't desert me,
Nor my passion impaled.
My mind is impervious
To their darts and slings;
To epithet furious,
That of jealousy ring.
The difference of years
They say will divide us
Will reject all their jeers
And repel all their bias.
My love will not yield;
Your love is my shield.
------- Author's Notes -------
Dedicated to my brother who found his (much younger) soulmate and suffered the consequences. |
