If Only I Had Known
24 December, 2004
Author: Michelle Boissiere
If only I had known,
The regret you had inside.
If only I had seen,
The pain you tried to hide.
If only I had realized,
That things werent just quite right.
If only I had looked,
And seen the pain you alone could fight.
Maybe If I had done these things,
You would still be here.
Now theres naught that I can do,
But cry another tear.
If only I had been there, If only I had known,
This regret, it fills my heart, a pain that over time grows.
------- Author's Notes -------
I wrote this poem for a friend of mine who committed suicide over a year ago. And this poem tells the truth, if she had come to me and told me what was happening, it might not have gone that far. |
