The Times In Between
5 January, 2005
Author: BabyGirl
The times in between,
The ones when we smile,
The laughter and tears
That last awhile.
The jokes we share
In the middle of the day,
The afternoon hugs
When we go away
The naps we take at midmorning
With the sun on our chin,
Watching the hours pass by,
Our timing so thin.
Rushing out the door
To make it to work on time
To sit by a phone
And talk on the line
Or skipping work
When the sun is out,
Cause you want a tan
And your boss is a grouch.
The times we don’t speak of
The people we love
The minutes we use in an unusual place
As we gaze softly into a familiar face.
These are the times in between
The times we adore
The times we ask God
Please let us have more!
