Love By The Sea
6 January, 2005
Author: Vampyr Tears
My hopes are still high
That you'll come back to me,
With all the promises in the world
I'll wait for you on the shore
Withstanding the cold winds,
Starring off into the horizon
I can only ignore their whispers for so long,
Their hushes words haunt me
"He's gone."
"Long gone"
Desperately I want you to return,
For life to go back to a state of bliss
I'm numb to any comfort,
To any new lovers,
I turn from them
And
Cling to your memory,
Until one day,
The tide can wash you away

This reminds me of the man standing on the shore, just staring at the sea for his lost wife & children that got swept out to sea, and he's just waiting by the sea, waiting for their return. Clinging to the memory. Was on TV. Great poem, thanks for sharing your poem/w us |
