Look into my eye’s look into my mind
What do you see there what do you find?
Do you see lying and hatred and sorrow?
Do you see hope and life for tomorrow?

Do you see dreams of things that can be?
Do you see wishing good things for me?
Can you see behind my mask of deceit?
Is it the real me you’d like to meet?

Will she come out and show her face?
Is she afraid she’ll get hurt in this place?
Is she hiding for days that are right?
Will she come gently or put up a fight?

Are there two people with me inside here?
How can you tell can you be clear?
How will you know if the real one is lured?
Will you now know which one is cured?

Why not just leave her there she has a mask
Why bring her out she cant face a new task
Leave her she’s happy she likes being in
It’s not a bad thing it’s not a sin

Why must I face up to the problems in life?
Why take on trouble pain and then strife
I’m like a small cloth of velvet inside
You are barbed wire I want to hide

You are dangerous your challenge is fun
What you have started can not be undone
You have the woman now back to a child
Now you’ll be sorry for this wont be mild

Do you ever sit back and think how to do?
Do you ever listen and not hear the clue?
Do you know what it’s like to sit in that chair?
You have no idea just professional care

So take back your kind words you don’t mean a thing
Take back the phone calls the one where you ring
You’ve messed with my head no its open and bleeding
My thoughts are so sore my pain isn’t receding

I know it’s supposed to be good for the heart
But this girl is childlike she’s back at the start
I’m out now this is me in the raw
Please help me find a safe exit door

I want to feel safe not running from history
I want to feel my life’s no longer a mystery
I want to feel life has a message for me
I know most of all I want to be free
