So Over You
20 January, 2005
Author: Dimples
I’m so over you,
Can’t change my mind
It’s all in the past
How could I have been so blind?
When I thought of you
My heart would ache
And memories of you
Used to keep me awake
But those feelings have gone
This flame is no longer alight
Now I’ve got no reason
To lie awake at night
When I think of all the wasted hours
Spent on you
Giggling, dreaming
Trying to catch a glimpse or two
I feel sick at my ignorance
Wish I had known
You are no longer perfect
Your flaws have been shown
The face of an angel
Masking a rat
But now I’m past caring
I’m bigger than that
You made your choice
Now I’m making mine
Chose her over me
Wish I knew why
So even though it hurts
When I see you two together
I gotta move on, there’ll be more
Can’t dwell on this forever
I know I can’t control your feelings
Or change who you are inside
There’s nothing I could ever do
To get you on my side
Except change the person that I am
And that I’ll never do
So when I put things in perspective
I guess I’m over you
So I guess this is goodbye
The last poem to you I’ll write
And now that this is off my chest
I’ll get to sleep at night
