Moving On
28 January, 2005

Let me go…
Please?
I can feel you behind me…In front of me… all around me.
I can’t tear free…
My soul screams your name…My heart mourns your loss…
Do you hear me?
Do you see me?
Was I ever real?
You gave me breath, then you stole it away…
I run…run…
Still looking back…
I’m losing you…. I turn to face where you were….
Have you finally released me?
As I turn to move forward again, there you are in front of me…
You haunt my dreams…
You burn my being…
I feel you searing my very core…
I was moving forward…even though you are not behind me,
I cannot turn and run back….
There is no going into the past…
The past is where your power grows stronger…
I see your eyes…
Those eyes I trusted…
They held love once…
Now they hold nothing…
Lifeless…
Black….
There is no direction for me to run…
If I could fly away, I would…
But I am earth bound…
Set to walk…
Wondering if I can move on…
I feel your cold hands on me…
Pulling me back to your depths…
I pull away….
Straining until I ache….
I feel your grip loosening…
I run…run….
I look back….
I see you in the distance reaching out for me
with promises unfulfilled…
I won’t turn back again…
Your voice calls my name….
I won’t look back again.

Princess Moon (168.53.173.141) -- Friday, January 28 2005, 04:18 pm I really think this poem was full of desperation, escape, and betrayal all at the same time. I was really wanting to know what would happen to the very end. Very nice!~PM |
