Dear Lord
many times I have come crying to you
asking you to keep me close
and come into my life before
the toughest trials hit my life
because you know how I cannot
altogether face them alone

at one point I had no other choice
but yet in the shadows you were always there with me
everyone knows no matter how hard I fall
I always fall straight into your arms
and your always there to lift me up

well Lord today it is different
no matter what
I'll always need you here close to my heart
so please never go far

just to let you know
I still have tears
that remain in my soul
but ,My Lord these tears I shed
share my joy of how content and fulfilled my heart has become

I come to you to give you praise
you see there is this gentleman
so sweet so kind such a rare gem
there is something so different about him
well you already know who he is
you know how he makes me feel

for you are the one
that presented him to me
you knew my needs
for you knew he was the only one
whom could fulfill those needs for me
I want to praise you
for this mans heart

I want to praise you
for the love that shines from his soul
he makes me feel whole
he is so special
he is so holy
the world is so in love with his heart
yet he doesn't seem to think so

he is such a spiritual man
he holds my heart in his hand
sometimes I believe he's too holy for me
he thinks he is just a regular man

I will not challenge your gift to me
I will just let it be
and accept yours and his love for me
he knows I am naïve
and holds his best interest in my heart

he was not there on my shattered days
but his heart has felt the blows of mine
as you know My Lord
how deep my love for him goes

thank you lord for restoring my faith
by placing him in my life
before I completely gave up
and allowing me to see and feel love
with the eyes of my heart

my kids think he's tops
they know he is not here to replace their pops
like me they never set eyes on him

they see him for who he is through me
as I see him in the same way through you
I praise you for my lifetime gift..
