Flying On A Broken Wing....

Author: Terrie*
flying on a broken wing
here I sit in comfort
and soar so high in flight
to my destiny's delight
heading straight to a lovers moonlight
by my Angel of light
I have seen the problem I have been
by never allowing another in
no matter how I may try to façade my heart
my Angel knows who I am
he can see the extensiveness of my pain
that I try to hide from him
with such grace he opened up his wings
as well as his heart to me
in a heartbeat
I accepted him into my life
he continues to wait patiently
for my love to unfold
he pulled me out of dangers face
he paid a mighty price
by sacraficing himself for me
when he swooped down
and securely placed me under his wing
and caused himself great injury
that weakened his wing
a fighting force would not relieve it's grip of me
but he never gave up
because he knew the strength of my love
would be cutting through
and set us free
towards our cloud of love
we were destined for
