Pretty Wrapping
30 January, 2005
Author: Shaz
What a pretty box you come in,
So pretty box right there
What a pretty ribbon
wrapped around with tender care
What a pretty person you must be
born so carefully wrapped
What a kind and sweet baby you are
your empty mind untapped
What a pretty box
and I perceive you will grow up fine
Looking at your wrapping.
You will be handsome fair and kind
What if the world could all see through
that pretty outside shell?
If we could see inside the mind
and see the twisted swell
If we could see by your wrapping
what you really are
If we could see your not that good
our picture you would mar
If we see that you are evil,
murderous and bad
If we could see by your wrapping
you will make us sad
Wouldn’t life be easy then
if we could only see?
That you are not as nice and sweet
as your wrapping claims to be
If you were born in dirty paper
with mud and dirt and hate
Then we could see you were not good
we could see that straight
We could avoid you stay away
never by you fooled
We could tell small Children
so they are properly tooled
If we could see your inner soul
that would be of use
We’d take of your pretty wrapping
and stop all the abuse
