I stood out in the rain
I allowed Gods tears to bathe me
and wash my sins away

I stood out in the rain
as I felt the thunder
seep through my soul

I stood out in the rain
I saw the great big flash
from heaven light up the night sky

I stood out in the rain
I thought about you
I felt a tear fight
it's way back into my eye

I stood out in the rain
it was always a romantic time for us
whether we were together or apart
we always made it a part of us
a special time we claimed as our own

I stood out in the rain
I recalled upon every rainfall
when you were away
I remember your call
as you'd tell me you loved me

I stood out in the rain
remembering when we would both go outside
from where we were
and catch every drop upon our flesh

I stood out in the rain
I remember the feeling in our hearts
when we'd make love
right there under the rain in broad day light
just by the words that we shared

I stood out in the rain
just to catch a bit of you
falling upon my flesh
becaue you have become a part of that rain
