Goodbye
22 October, 2003
Author: Charmaine
You said we’ll be friends, even after our breakup,
You promised to be there for me, no matter what happened.
Though heartbroken as I was, I felt a little comforted,
As I’ll still have your friendship even if I didn’t have your love.
At the very beginning, things were pretty okay,
But as time passed, I felt our friendship straining.
We were drifting apart, much too far apart,
I tried to salvage our friendship, but it was just no use.
I tried so hard, so very very hard,
But how could I make things work, without your help?
One sided effort proved much too hard,
And I decided to give up, and to say my goodbye.
So goodbye to you, this my final farewell,
I’ll really miss you, but I’ll just have to live with it.
I hope you’re happy and will never be sad,
Goodbye my friend, goodbye…goodbye…
