Her Downfall
14 February, 2005
Author: mArLeNe
She gave him her world she put it all at his feet
She never acted with a selfish heart because he made her heart skip a beat
He never saw beyond the physical appearance and materialistic was all he was
He never saw the beauty within her all he saw was a body with no flaws
To him she had the body of a goddess and the face of an angel
To her he had a soul of gold but the heart of a stranger
He was more to her than she was to he
But no matter how hard she tried; THIS she could never see
His words blinded her and his kisses helped this lie seal
But the wounds that in her heart he caused they could never heal
If only she could’ve seen sooner what living by his side would really bring
If she could have only said No when he bought her that “FOREVER” ring
He was “THE ONE” for her in her own eyes
But nothing he said was true she was drowning in his lies
She said he was the reason for her joy but he was the reason for her sorrow
She believed without him by her side there would be no tomorrow
I attempted to open up her eyes sorry but I have done all that I can
she is now gone and her downfall was putting her trust in a MAN
