Pearl Of My Heart
17 February, 2005
Author: Moonstarshine
Walking along
the soft, sandy shore
under the sky
of a midnight blue,
glancing at the sea in its calm azure,
swaying to the rhythm of the moon's allure..
The glistening moon
casts its magical rays,
adding sparkle to shells
upon the silvery way.
I gather them gently
one by one...
so plain and empty
they appear in my hand.
Not worth a find, none special to keep,
all pieces of stones...
lying in a dull heap.
I toss them around
towards the sea...
in the quiet, rippling waves they go down...
one by one...
Submerged in thoughts
in a world of my own,
thinking of someone
I walk all alone,
empty handed, still content from within
for the richness I have and hold within.
Deeper than the sea
in the depth of my soul,
a gem well preserved
much rarer than gold,
encased in its shell
from the very start,
none other than you
the 'Pearl of
my Heart'

martin Vann (63.25.136.89) -- Friday, February 18 2005, 10:14 pm Moonstarshine; I can see, your bare feet, toes, pushing into the sand of time. I see you, bend down, though your heart is strong, I see you bend down, pick up a hollow shell, that once had life, now you hold, the remains in your heart, soul and hands. You know the truth of what you hold in your hands, then you set it free, as you watch truth fall, deep and back, into the sea. You cry, why not I, why have I not felt love to its end, still search for the beginning and pray I never find, the end of my love, sinking into the deep, where it all began. I praise your poem and feel your heart, invasion no, just my heart can understand yours as you search for love, in the watery sand, I understand. MV |
Princess Moon (168.53.174.166) -- Saturday, February 19 2005, 12:05 am I loved this poem moonstarshine, it was so lovely. I loved it so much because it's like as if I can really relate to it; it's like you read my thoughts in the most beautiful way I would have never thought of. I too hope for a chance at love in the future. That poem was so lovely, so fresh, and I agree with Martin-I felt like I could see your toes digging into the sand. It was simply beautiful-nothing like it. Keep writing moonstarshine, I always love to read what you write.~PM |
