She Sleeps, At Night

She sleeps, tonight, as a woman should, she feels his arms around her
He sleeps, as a man should, the touch of her breast, caressing, his heart
They sleep in the warmth of a loving home, solid ground, sacred earth
They, sleep, in each other’s arms, they are the world, they are, one heart
She wakes, without the knowledge of her own smile, she brings him close
He makes not a sound, yet, his arms, reply with his heart and they touch
Still deep in sleep, he reaches for what he already has, he reaches for her
Now, she knows, she smiles, and little tears, from her eyes, roll down her cheek
He never moves, she can only hear him breath, as he holds her, no sound is heard
She just feels his heart, as he breathes within her soul, she smiles
Still the tears, you know, the quiet tears, no one hears, but, we all feel
They roll down her cheeks, as she places her soft, lips upon his
She is awake, as only a woman in love can be, her smile is upon his heart
As he sleeps, she touches his hair, gently as a hummingbird sings, with soft Wings, fluttering, flying every where, but, knowing always, where her home
And heart is, she will always find her way, back, to his heart, as he sleeps
By the grace of God, This is how, this is how…,
