True Friendship
19 March, 2003
Author: Christa
While you walk, I'll be by your side
Blocking out deceit and all the lies
When you worry, I'll calm your fears
This I know, for a thousand years
If you get stuck and don't know how to start
I'll be here to help you, with all my heart
As you cry, I'll be your shoulder
Never-ending, as we grow older
When you're in danger, I'll lay down my life
Through every heartbreak and all of life's strife
If you get lost, you can hold my hand
I will be here forever, longer than any man
When you need to yell, I will listen with ease
If a true friend is needed, it will be me
When you're in pain, I'll hold your heart
Promising we will never be kept apart
When you can't go on any longer, I will carry you
To show you our friendship is really true
When you're in the dark, use my eyes to see
And by your side forever, I will always be
------- Author's Notes -------
I wrote this poem to my best friend Marissa as she was going through a lot of tough stuff. She knows I'll always be by her side, no matter what. |
