The Beach
8 March, 2005
Author: Morgan Long
The waves glisten from the sun,
Twinkling a crystal blue,
As they crash upon the shore,
Washing the beach once more.
The summer fire ignites the sand,
Burning the soles of innocent feet.
Tiptoeing hurriedly across the beach,
My yearns will settle when the water I reach.
Shells, shells, so many shells;
Different sizes, different shapes, unique to their time.
Sharing a secret for all to hear:
Shouting the roar of the ocean's tear.
The air is thick with a salty scent,
Mixed with suntan oil and fishy tails.
Soon the sun will gently set,
Preserving the memories I will never forget.
