Finding Me
14 March, 2005
Author: Faith
In the search for myself
What do I find
I find a girl who has lost
All track of time
Someone who has forgotten
What it is like to live
Someone who begs for forgiveness
For all the wrong things she did
A girl who is slowly dying inside
Who was too scared to put up a fight
And let this disease slowly
Take away her life
She used to run and hide
And would cut herself
In hopes of masking all of the pain
She felt deep down inside
Then she came to realize
She wasn't so bad
But how she took life for granted
Is something so very sad
Now her faith helps
Take away all of her pain
And she no longer lives
Her life in vain.

This is a poem I wrote about my early struggles of how to learn to live with cancer and still look forward to a better future. |
