Afraid to get to close.
In case I'm exposed.

Just a frightened little bunny,
Trying to be funny.

Humour keeps people from hurting.
the saying " Once burned twice shy"
Makes sense now.

No pain in being alone.

But no one either to hear the moans.

This is a solid poem. We learn by experience what our tolerance level for pain is. Sounds like you know yours.
