Hurtful Love

Author: The Lost Girl
There's a dark shadow over there,
it's watching me, I swear.
I used to not be afraid of it,
but now it's just waiting to hit.
It waits for me to say the wrong thing,
so it can take its' first enjoyable swing.
It's haunting my dreams and my every thought.
Where's the love from it that used to be sought?
I relied on the faceless shadow for care,
not to come and bring me fear.
I ran to it when I was in doubt,
but now I only get hit it the mouth.
I'm scared to leave this comforting spot,
its' eyes are watching, its' stare is hot.
I'm trembling now, and I look to the door,
but if I try to run, I'll be on the floor.
I tell myself "Do not cry,"
because if I do, I might die.
Tomorrow, after the pain, I'll try to see,
that it's alright, I need to love Daddy.
