Crying In The Mirror
19 March, 2005
Author: K.Y.
I wince at the sting of the slap on my face
to run to my room and shut the door is a race
I must beat her back to my room
for if I do not, a beating will resume.
I cry as she pounds the door down
I scream as it tumbles down to the ground
I pray for someone to hear my cry
as I am pushed about I cry
I am told to hush, to keep it down
but my cries are imminent as I land on the ground
I feel worthless, I just want to die
Before I feel more pain, I would be better inside
I need a shoulder to cry on, of who I can trust
as i hit the floor with one final thrust
The beatings were too much for me to take,
being born was my only mistake
I feel better now that heaven is my home
This is the only true home I've ever known
I feel safe near Heaven's gate
My life now ended, for it was too late
There was no escape from the cries and screams,
heaven is the only safe haven it seems
I yearn to be hugged, to finally be loved
The only love I ever felt is the love from above.
