At Two In The Morning.. by Brett

At two in the morning I sit with my thoughts
They are the only thing that can tell the real from the not
They stick with me throughout all of my days..
Always changing and asking me what made me this way

Does God play a hand in what we are today?
Or does so called fate come about a different way?
Who are we to judge ourselves?
When society is what creates us and makes you yourself..

I envy those who live in mental freedom
Some say they're insane, I say we need 'em
Because what is a world that is perfect and in peace?
Another idealistic creation made true by our needs

But then the question will be, what do we need?
And the answer to that runs deeper than deep
We all need something out of life to make us feel complete
But how can you reach it, if no-one knows what you need?

Brett! Long absence brother! Naw, I'm messing! It's nice to welcome you with open arms again to Dreamer's site! So, you were compelled to write at 2 in the morning....Unique thoughts were running through your gray matter eh? LOL! If you can't tell your best friend, then I think it's best to tell no one. Being the simple fact that your best friend is about the only person closest to you----then again, I don't know. Have you tried talking to family about being heard and whatnot? But as always, great words and great in voicing your opinion! Very delightful poetry Brett!
