I made a promise
yet,I never expected this
it hit me real deep
but,a promise I must keep

I have to let you go
I want you to know
I didn't plan it this way
not really much I can say

I believe I may express it better
writing it down in this letter
so difficult to say goodbye
I feel myself already begining to cry

you gave me life
when you came into my life
I saw the doors open for me
from a distance he too could see

no other man was gonna be right for me
he has returned for me
just as he promised he would
I'm going home for good

my tears have all been dried
knowing I'll be by his side
thank you for sharing your gifted sight
for wrapping me in your illuminus light

thank you for such grace
it is time for us to part
I'll always have a reserved place
for you in my heart
