Candyland--a Diabetic's Love Poem
31 March, 2005
Author: Silent Witness
Seal my wounds with lemon drops
Sugarcoat these scars
Morph me into a candy land
Heal my pain with chocolate bars
Now I drown in cotton candy
Sugary sweet deceit
I sleep upon truffle clouds
Content with my defeat
Gummy bear tales of broken hearts
Strewn across the floor of black licorice
Walk the halls of sweet foolery
Hearts hung up on crimson red licorice twists
Stroll thru the hunger dome
All alpine mints and gingerbread
Sell you soul to this candy land
May Tootsie pops fill my head
Tranquil content this candy land
Be a child if you wish
Submerge your problems in sprinkles
Swallow them with butter mints
Found in the candy dish
Wax lips offer in serene redemption
In this land of fake
Everything is frosted
Now it's time I wake
