Was That You?

Another chapter, the turning of a page
I must move on without needing your face
The alarm sounds it's time for wake
More dreaming of you
Something I just can't take
Was that you who went by?
Was that your car?
Did i hear the sound of your voice?
Were you not very far?
Do you think of me the way i still think of you?
The lover you lost
How you needed me too?
Dreams were shattered in that moment of truth
Did you lie so could take her?
Did you lie becuase she was the one?
Was i second best in those days of fun?
When you were with me I saw in your eyes
How you looked right through me and remembered those nights
When you with her all cuddled asleep
Why was it you needed me?
Why did you use me and then leave?
Why couldn't you just stay away
Keep to yourself and those thing you felt you had to say
"I love you"
Never taken to lightly
I'll never trust again but i'll go on here
For it's you coming back I fear
I'd rather miss you than learn to love again
I'd rather think of the memories and the way things should have been
and i'll continue thinking of those words you said to
becuase i will forever love you
