Every Morning
8 April, 2005
Author: Alan
Every morning before we got onto the bus,
checks were made so it was safe for us,
no devices were placed underneath,
today there wouldn't be need for a wreath.
Every day we were late for school,
as they checked the bus with a special tool,
we didn't know what was going on,
why would someone want to plant a bomb.
Children is all that were were,
laughing and giggling waiting for our chauffeur,
we'd all been warned about suspicious things,
til it was drummed into us so we'd be listening.
One day we didn't pay attention,
something happened so terrible to mention,
we got on the bus without thinking that day,
storm clouds gathered it turned very grey.
We started off on our journey to school,
when all of a sudden the day turned cruel,
an almighty explosion filled up the air,
this was our living nightmare.
We were children innocent and young,
our bus blew up we were far-flung,
cries and shrieks of parents in despair,
didn't them terrorists even care.
What had we done to upset them,
innocent lives they did condemn,
No more laughter no more noise,
just laying dead them girls and boys.
------- Author's Notes -------
Although this didn't actually happen our school bus was checked every morning for bombs, all because our parents were in the Armed Forces. |
