Running Away
27 October, 2003
Author: Christina
Running away was the hardest thing to do
There was nowhere to go and be free
but also nowhere to hide
I was fleeing from the memory of you
I had nowhere to turn
Nor shelter from the storm
The past hit me like waves
that would froth, pound, and churn
I was running through the dark
Blind, and unaware
I wanted to escape from you
but you had already left a painful mark
I fell into a black hole,
broken and betrayed,
and hoped freedom would be found
by my tortured soul
