The Kid I N Me

I shared a great gift
of happiness with my God-Daughter
I took her to the mall
just to get out of the house
and look around

I was so energized
as all could see
I was behaving
well not really unusual for me
but slightly a bit much more oddly
we walked out holding hands from every store

we looked both ways counted
1,2,3...clear to the left..
1,2,3 clear to the right...
1,2,3 lets race to the car

I think I was the one whom had more fun
she busted out laughing
as I sat her on top of the car
and out of my car
came 2 bottles of bubbles
I packed for the trip

i dipped in the wand and blew
several bubbles
above her head
we craked up so loud
and we drew ourselves into tears
i brought her down
we chased each others bubbles around

folks passing by greeted us
with a great big smiile
as if wanting to become a part of the morning fun
so I handed them the wand
to blow a few bubbles to share in the memory
I was building for Riki and me

she said to me
Nina your
a mommie-kid

when I grow up tomorrow
I want to be a mommie kid too

I guess it is true
I have never quite grown up yet
cause even my husband used to tell me so
and I believe
I will always be a mommie-kid
for a very very long long time..
