I Dreamed Of This Day by Terrie*

I simply caint believe
when I open and close my eyes
to make sure it is not a dream
that my eyes focus upon

I see you standing in front of me
I just caint believe
I caint move
I caint speak

your presence makes me weak

I taste the salt from my tears
that slowly flow to my lips

I know for sure it is real
when I feel
your lips and tongue
dry those lonely tears

I dreamed of this day
for soooo long
It was difficult to make myself strong
it caused me a great deal
of heart ache and pain
when you weren't near

the lonely nights I slept alone
the lonely trips on the road
the cup of coffee I sipped alone

the many tears
falling upon my lips
were my only company

who would of known
that being in love
would cause so much pain

the pain that lets us know
that love does exist
when two hearts can not touch

we are well over that now
but these salty tears continue to flow
because I for one am so happy

tears of joy overwhelm my soul
as I stand so close to you
while you wrap me under your wing

feeling the miracle
of salty tears raining upon
two hearts beating as one

This reminds me of home...
The first to stanzas remind me off when I came back to my home.Back to the country of origin,being six years away.I saw the people that I was growing up with and ever single corner had a memory.Yeah,for the first few days, a lot and a lot of tears...:p Thank you for sharing this poem.Brings back happy memories for me :p An Angel in Tears xxx
