Come Back
25 February, 2004
Author: Clive B Ringshall
I think about you all day and night,
Are you safe to come back to me,
I remember the night we parted farewell,
Never wanting that day to come,
We both held tight my arms like a closing vice,
I remember hearing you catch your breath,
Then as we pulled away our lips met again,
I wanted to taste you not knowing when you’d return,
I wanted to keep you always in my arms,
Then you were gone,
Come back to me,
I said again and again,
Would write you daily to say I love you,
Laying in our bed alone,
I saw you in the sheets daily,
I bought you coffee once maybe twice,
Wile shopping I picked your favorite fruit,
Then I remembered you’d gone,
I shed many a tear alone,
Come back to me.
Time passes by you’d never left me inside,
More time passed my memories held fast,
Then one day soon you knocked on the door,
As I went to the door I knew it was you,
My smile was wide,
My hair a mess,
My heart beating like the first day of life,
My stomach loop the loop in anticipation,
My hand on the door,
I turn it slowly waiting to see,
You came back to me,
Our hug so tight,
Tighter than before,
Kisses followed by kisses,
I love you much more,
Questions followed like a waterfall,
SHH my love I’m back,
I’ll love you much more.
