Masked

My colourful mask
Hides my many tears
My insercurities
My fears
To people i always seem to be
Happy, cheerful and bouncy
But really my life is a castortofy
Unmasked at night
My tears flow
Shake, shivers
There must be same better place to go
I put on a smile
Act happy
I want people to enjoy being around me
At the moment they cant see
and i dont want them to
But my smile which is so fake
Wont last much longer
One day it gonna break
Its just a matter of time
Then people will see
The pain i cover up
The pain within me
I dont know whats wrong
I dont know what to do
I want to be truly happy
I know this poem is sappy
But im trying to reach out
Say the things that i dont have the courage to shout.

Meridian (172.166.203.21) -- Monday, May 2 2005, 12:18 am I guess most of us hide behind a mask at times. I know I've put on a show for years. I might as well become an actress, if there's nothing real to me. Don't get me wrong, I can be sincere, but a mask seems so much easier to slip on and take on a whole new character. You know what I'm saying? Britney summed your poem up beautifully! I really do love 'Masked' Aimee! |
