Someone Left Heavens Gate Open

last night i had a dream that
an Angel
came home to be with me
Someone must of left heavens gate open
she must of heard my cries
as the sun went down
this angel
was a great mystery
yet i felt a connection
I never had to say a word
her soft voice comforted me
when she sang me a lulla-bye
there was a certain sweetness
in the air that came over me
like a shadow on a sunny day
and covered me
with a blanket of warmth
when I awoke the followin' day
I remembered smellin'
that same sweet aroma that
my mom left
and i realized
my mom was that Angel
that came back to comfort me
as she held me in her arms last night
