Closer

Here I am all alone,
Thinking of those days gone by,
A person I met, hands are held,
Talking we find things in common,
The talking goes on way after dark,
Do we meet again?
Dinner next time my treat,
Talk extends and friends are found all around,
Come on over I’d like to meet,
Your coffee, you take it sweet?
We re holding hands, I did not see,
A friend I found, and friend I need,
At this time I’ll not mislead,
Maybe tomorrow things will change,
But for today this is strange,
Back to talking we agree,
Until tomorrow comes
