A Hug To Hold Me

i wish i had a hug to hold me
when things aren't quite right
when i feel like i'm fighting
an endless fight
just a comforting jesture
that should come easy to all
to help those who are helpless
those who continually fall
a pair of arms and two hands
to hold and show me
everythign will be okay
and give me the strength to stand
i wish i had a hug to hold me
this i've been praying for so long
and i'll continue to ask God for
until it comes along
"sometimes things get out of hand
i wish for someone with kindness to lend
their arms to wrap around me
and hold me tight
until i feel better
even if it takes all night
please God grant me
this wish i pray
make it come true soon
give me this gift today"
