i never laughed so hard as i did the day
my life seemed perfect in everway
the boy of my dreams right by my side
our simple hearts swimming in all the lies
and we never were apart after that day
like husband and wife are the roles we played
but it all faded away too fast
we grew up and the feelings passed

i held out much longer than other girls i knew
i felt i should fall in love so it's special too
i met him and was head over heals
i thought this must be how it feels
to care about someone so much
to give apart of yourself way in lust
it was the first mistake i made
i should have left and never stayed

i never cried as hard as i did the day
i realized i no longer felt the way
i did when i first looked into his eyes
i want to pack my things not saying goodbye
and find where my heart really is
follow my dreams and really live
making up my own mind
true happiness to find

but it's alright
this just isn't worth the fight
but i'll never forget your name
i hope that you'll do the same
and please don't be mad that i left
i needed to start off fresh
i'm lost and i need to be found
it's up to me to turn my life around

i'm all on my own in a tiny room
but i'ma single rose in full bloom
i never cry out and i never stray
from the dreams that i was able to create
this is my life and i'm finally glad to be here
my heart is happy and near
as God guides me to destinations unknown
i know i'll never be alone
