Peak
4 May, 2005
Author: Maranda Berkley
the sand sifts through the hour glass of time
waking the caterpillars from their wombs
emerging butterflies to new lives
they soar across the unseen world they didn't know existed
stopping to smell the roses
slowing down to gaze at the fishes
their final years spent in the peak of their lives
the freedom breezing through their wings
the happiness felt just before their time
