Her, Little Paw
5 May, 2005

Again, I'm late, for a meeting in another town
So, I'm driving fast, have a schedule to meet
I'm flying now, have my radar detector on
Then, I see, along side of the road
It looked like a tiny, hand, as it waved at me
I had to stop, then I, backed up, must have been
Half a mile. Then, I saw her, laying in the dirt
Got out of my car, and went to her
Seems, someone, threw her out of a car, along side the road
Still, she waved, her little paw at me, then her eyes closed
I lifted her broken body, into my car, and turned up the heat
She was so, cold, she never moved, as I found a Vet, to care for her
After two hours, he came out and said, you saved her life
She, will be fine, this little girl, you found along side the road
He said, would you like to see her? Hell, I said yes
I went into the room and she raised, her little paw
Now, she is mine, runs up & down the hall, four legs
One made of wood, God, I love her, when she jumps up
When I come home, and her fur is so soft, and smile so big
I can't beleive her eye lashes, as they smile at me, everyday
So, someone didn't want her, yet, I needed her and found her
Along, side of the road, a little paw, waving at me, as I passed by
She is so, beautiful, this little girl with four legs, one made of wood
