If

If I saw you on a moonlight beach,
Would you turn and look at me?
If I saw you in a grocers store,
Would you look and see it was me?
If I were to send you that letter,
Would you read each word with love?
If I were to hold you tight,
Would you hold the love I give?
If I were to kiss your lips,
Would you press yours against mine too?
If I told you I dream only you,
Would you dream of me with you too?
If I gave you my heart,
Would you care and keep it safe?
If I knocked upon your door,
Would you welcome and show me in?
If I would give up my life,
Would you do the same for me?
If I were to share and give only to you,
Would you be prepared to do the same?
If I now tell you,
It’s you my heart cries for each night,
It’s my tears that stain the pillow,
All because of you in me.
