My Heart Still Sinks
20 January, 2004
Author: Clive B Ringshall
Today I saw you walking along the path,
You were smiling with your friend,
My heart sank to see you without me,
I’m glad you found your smile again,
To know I was the cause you lost your smile,
I still miss you in all I do,
Yet I still feel you in all I am,
Time heals so I’ve been told,
This is not so true as I died inside,
A dreamer I am; so giving up is not a want,
I know you’ve moved on,
I’m now a distant memory to forget,
If this pain is love then I’ll never love again,
To hurt this much will only happen this once,
To realize how much you took my soul,
To see how much of me I gave,
This can never happen again,
Even if this means you’ll walk,
In my heart till my dieing day.

Terrie* (65.135.87.176) -- Thursday, January 22 2004, 06:01 pm you have precious ways of putting yourself into your poetry, you write beautifully, all will agree w/me..loss of a love..under any given circumstance can be excruciatingly painful, very unbearable no doubt about it especially first loves, no one can forget/replace them..but, then in life we never look on replacing. we just continue to live life and love deep..as long as we are able to share that much..there is always some one to ease the pain some times we do not see that , the person could very well be standing next to us in a line somewhere or a long lost friend ya neva know..keep your heart and mind open, don't let those opportunities escape, don't rush!!! . the scar will fade in time, memories won't .always best if relationships don't end on a bittersweet note..love will hurt no matter what..Great poem.
